What you'll learn

Hypothyroidism is one of the commonest chronic disorders seen in clinical practice. Subclinical Hypothyroidism is an early, mild form of hypothyroidism, a condition where the body does not produce enough thyroid hormones. It is called subclinical because only the serum level of the thyroid-stimulating hormone is a little bit above normal. The level of TSH ranges between 4.6 to 10 mIU/L.

The treatment goals for hypothyroidism are to reverse clinical progression and correct metabolic derangements, as evidenced by normal blood levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and free thyroxine (T4).
