Do you know the disorder was first described in 2010 by Pittock and colleagues? It is a newly described pontine-centric inflammatory disorder with distinct clinical and radiological features. Primary care physicians should be aware of CLIPPERS and relevant differential diagnoses so that the advantages of early diagnosis and GCS-based therapy are not missed. Further studies to determine the exact nosological position of the disorder, potential biomarkers, reliable diagnostic criteria, and the optimal form and duration of treatment, are essential.
