Key concepts covered include:

By the end of this course, you will be able to understand:

  • Students will learn the basics of Radiology and how to read DICOM data to differentiate different anatomies.
  • Students will learn how to prepare their file for Additive manufacturing (Design for Additive Manufacturing) along with build preparation for 3D Printing.
  • This course will enable students how to extract and convert patient-specific anatomy to 3D Models using open-source segmentation software.
  • The course will discuss the different types of 3D Printing Technologies and how each plays a role across different applications of customizing Healthcare.
  • The course will also throw light on advanced applications of 3D Printing in Healthcare and its future.

What you'll learn

Objective:
3D modelling and 3D printing have gained tremendous limelight in the recent past because of their capability to provide personalized care to patients and have proved to be life-saving. This course will allow its learners to familiarize themselves with the basic tools of extracting patient anatomy in the form of 3D models from patient CT and MRI scans, along with the principles of 3D printing and preparation for manufacturing.

Course Description:

This entire beginner-level course will be focused on getting ourselves comfortable with the Open Source and Free 3D Slicer Software, how to extract valuable patient-specific information from Patient CT/MRI Scans, and convert them to 3D Models that provide an extra dimension to imaging. We will also learn how to prepare these files for 3D Printing, so the manufacturing process is seamless. We will move on to explaining the different technologies in 3D Printing, how do you decide which technology to use based on its medical applications, and in conclusion, we will share extended applications of the revolutionizing technology.
This Open-Source software is not intended for clinical use.

4/5

Firoza Kothari is a Co-Founder & CTO of Anatomiz3D Medtech Private Limited and also a Forbes 30 Under 30 – Asia – Healthcare, and Science winner.

In April 2015 with her team, she executed their first case ever in Paediatric Cardiology, which also turned out to be the first case in the country. Along the way, she created many firsts of its kind: the first partial amputee prosthetic hand and first kidney tumor case designed in India, the First tongue cancer model in the World, etc.
