Thyroid hormone has multiple effects on the cardiovascular system and is one of the hormones which can lead to noticeable changes in cardiac functioning. Hypothyroidism is the deficiency of thyroid hormone and has known effects on cardiovascular pathways, including adverse effects in systolic and diastolic function, endothelial functioning, etc. While treating cardiac dysfunctions, thyroid functioning would not be a usual diagnosis which is made by cardiologists.
