The methods used to measure body composition and the various methods of laboratory assessment of nutritional status, along with dietary assessment, have also been described in the course. Every individual requires different quantities of nutrients. It is important to assess the nutritional status of the individual in order to develop a nutritional plan to treat malnutrition and acute diseases and to prevent chronic diseases.
