Preeclampsia has always played a major role in maternal mortality and morbidity. The least we can do is to create awareness among the patients, expect alertness from our fellow obstetricians, and continue research to find the causes and new treatment modalities. It seems that we have come a full circle calling it toxemia of pregnancy 100 years back because it was thought that there were toxins in the blood and now again finding that there are subcellular soluble factors in the blood which may be the reason for this scourge. This course will address the clinical significance and management of preeclampsia and its complications.
