The specialty of Gynecological Urology is a subspecialty of Gynecology that is in charge of health care and comprehensive management of female pelvic floor dysfunction. Treats conditions related to urinary incontinence (stress urinary incontinence, overactive bladder), interstitial cystitis, recurrent urinary tract infections, pelvic organ prolapse, chronic pelvic pain, among others.
Academic training:
- Surgeon and Midwife, Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León.
- Specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics, Tec de Monterrey. Current certification, by the Mexican Council in Gynecology and Obstetrics.
- Sub-Specialty in Gynecological Urology, National Institute of Perinatology, National Autonomous University of Mexico. Current certification, by the Mexican Council in Gynecology and Obstetrics.
- Training stay in reconstructive pelvic floor surgery at the Jeanne de Flandre Hospital, Lille, France
- Fellowship in Urodinamia, Utrecht Medical Center, International Continence Society. Utrecht, The Netherlands.
