The muscular system is responsible for the movement of the human body. About 700 muscles are attached to the bones of the skeletal system that make up about half of a person’s body weight. They can be skeletal, cardiac, or smooth depending on their location. The coordinated action of various groups of muscles helps us to walk. Muscle pain signals numerous problems. One might complain of it after heavy exercising.

Some commonly encountered conditions are sprains, muscle pulls, muscle tears, etc. Some not so common conditions such as muscular dystrophy, fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s disease are also associated with muscular abnormalities.
