A detailed description has been given about clinical presentation and how to arrive at a diagnosis. Other causes of small intestinal perforations include Crohn’s and Trauma. Diagnosis should be made early based on clinical symptoms and signs. A chest x-ray is enough to make a diagnosis of perforation detected by pneumoperitoneum. CECT scans can be done in selected patients. Timely resuscitation, operative intervention in the form of closure of perforation, and drainage of the peritoneal cavity reduce mortality rates and morbidity.
