Acute pulmonary oedema has a high mortality rate which requires emergency management and usually requires hospital admission. The one-year mortality rate for patients admitted to hospital with acute pulmonary oedema is up to 40%. The main goals of therapy are to improve oxygenation, maintain adequate blood pressure for perfusion of vital organs, and reduce excess extracellular fluid. Currently, he serves as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Welcare Hospital, Kochi, and is the chief of interventional cardiology.
