The Indian Nursing Council, an autonomous body under the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, was constituted under the aegis of the Act to maintain uniform standards and regulation of nursing education all over the country. Apart from education, it promotes research in nursing, prescribes a code of ethics and professional conduct, and regulates policies of training of nurses.
