What you'll learn
Meningoencephalitis is a life-threatening cause of infection and inflammation within the central nervous system. In the world, it is the second-leading infection-related cause of death in children. The prevalence of this disease is more common in children (below 4 years of age) and teenagers. At the early stage of illness, patients may present to the emergency department where the diagnosis is challenging due to the presence of common non-specific signs and symptoms. Physicians working in emergency medicine are challenged to identify patients who need urgent diagnostic testing and treatment quickly.read more »»
