What you'll learn
Sepsis is a major global health priority. Efforts focus on early recognition to impact treatment and outcomes. But this is confounded by several factors. This course will address why determining the true incidence of sepsis is difficult to define. As well as review the evolving definition and management guidelines for sepsis along with limitations of each. Finally, the key components to the development of a successful comprehensive sepsis program will be discussed.

Erkan Hassan, Pharm.D., FCCM is the Co-Founder of Sepsis Program Optimization which leverages the synergy of interdisciplinary clinical transformation and technology to solve health system 2019 sepsis challenges. Dr Hassan has over 20 years of experience as a clinician and healthcare executive in identifying and solving clinical challenges using evidence-based clinical data creating innovative, intelligent ecosystems to generate validated patient-centred clinical and financial outcomes. Dr Hassan has held clinical and faculty positions at universities and academic health systems establishing new clinical roles in critical care. He has held leadership positions within the Society of Critical Care Medicine and served as Director, Clinical Affairs to develop and grow the first U.S. tele-critical care ICU system.
