What you'll learn

Ultrasound has become one of the essential diagnostic aids in medicine due to increased abnormalities and defects in the organs. It uses high-frequency sound waves to capture live images from the body on to the monitor. It is also called sonography. Its importance in evaluating venous diseases of the lower extremities is vast.

It is essential to understand the normal venous anatomy of lower extremities, which have deep, superficial, and perforating venous components to determine the pathology of veins and their management. This module teaches you how to prepare for and perform an ultrasound examination of the lower limb veins. The interactive simulator provides three different scenarios to test your ability to perform this type of scan.

Online simulations enable you to build or refresh knowledge and cognitive skills and offer a safe practice environment to prepare for the real clinical world. You can also use simulations to try out procedures that you might not otherwise experience. This module is ideal if you are learning to perform venous ultrasound studies on the lower leg.
