Doppler techniques are used to monitor blood flow through the heart and major vessels. With such versatility, it is tempting to employ the technique for ever more demanding applications and to try to measure increasingly subtle changes in the maternal and fetal circulations. To avoid misinterpretation of results, however, it is essential for the user of Doppler ultrasound to be aware of the factors that affect the Doppler signal, be it a color flow image or a Doppler sonogram.

Knowledge of Doppler imaging, key aspects of current applications, limitations, basic principles of Doppler modes, Doppler scanning method, and Doppler artefacts are essential for medical professionals for appropriate and prompt diagnosis of internal anatomical structures.

Therefore, this course teaches you how to prepare for and perform spectral and color Doppler scans of the heart.
