During the first two decades, radiography was only to diagnose the diseases, fractures during world war. Initially conventional radiographic techniques with only a few planes have been introduced but as time advanced, newer and more sophisticated techniques have been developed which are enabling the clinicians and radiologists to study deeper into the structures of the body.

The scope of radiography has been extended to include some treatments of cancer by using agents as hormones and chemotherapeutic drugs. Knowledge on radiography, its techniques, planes used, indications, advantages, contra- indications are very important for any clinician to appropriately diagnose the patient at right time and treat accordingly.

Therefore, this course provides a thorough introduction to basic radiographic techniques and demonstrates how to set up and perform an X-ray procedure.
